STEP 19 - IMMUNE SUPPORT

College is definitely one of those times in life where the saying, “I don’t have time to be sick!” applies.

When a student is feeling under the weather, projects are still due, team and club practices still held, work schedules still posted, and invites to hang out with friends still given.

But with all this going on, college students are staying up late, eating junk food, and living in close quarters with other students.

Here are some tips for a healthy IMMUNE system:

• Get enough sleep!

Seven to eight hours is recommended. Pulling consistent all-nighters, or even just consistent late-nighters, wears on the immune system. Planning ahead and practicing good time-management skills that allow you to get to bed on time are preferable to getting little or inconsistent sleep.

• Eat nutritious foods!

Potato chips and fast food might sound delicious in the moment, but protein, fats, fruits, and veggies are what the body craves to run in tip-top condition. Having healthy and delicious snacks full of vitamins, minerals, and protein can go a long way toward making good food choices.

• Drink enough water!

Drinking water helps flush toxins from the body, meaning fewer toxins for the immune system to deal with. Strive to get eight glasses in a day (MORE if you are also drinking sugary drinks like soda). If you don’t like the taste of plain water, flavor it with your favorite Essential Oils.

• Use Essential Oils that support the immune system!

Many Essential Oils support the immune system. The PROTECTIVE BLEND contains Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary. This is an ideal blend to work into a morning and evening routine. Put three to five drops in a diffuser, mix with Fractionated Coconut Oil and apply to the bottoms of the feet or back of the neck, or add two to three drops in a veggie capsule. Consistent use of these oils is key to effective immune support.

Other Essential Oils that help support immune system function:

• Oregano

• Frankincense

Clove

• Cilantro

• Juniper Berry

• Geranium

• Cinnamon

• Lavender

• Melaleuca

Citrus Oils
